Day 66: Evaluating progress

A wise woman who reads my blog (you know who you are...and I'm not trying to suck up!!) told me yesterday that what I should consider doing sometime is evaluating how far I've come in this journey. As a result of this conversation I have decided to do that over the next 3 days. Today, my plans are to start looking back at my past blog entries to assess how I have been doing. Then over the course of the following two days I will be blogging on one day about the ones I have done well at and the ones I haven't done so well at.
Is the reason I am doing this because I couldn't think of any other topic to do...well, partially. I have to be honest about that. But the main reason for doing this is because we need to re-evaluate our journey and the tasks we put in our life. I know that I spoke about taking charge and re-evaluating our goals recently. This task is different in that I am holding myself accountable to continue my improving.
As I begin today to look at the tasks that I have had over the last 66 days, its time that all of you as readers and supporters also look at the last 66 days in your lives. How has my blog affected your life? Has it made you ask yourself questions about your own life? Have you been more aware of areas in your life that you didn't normally look at?
However my blog has helped you or affected you, I challenge you to re-evaluate yourself and your journey. What are ares in your life that you need to work on? What are areas that you have done well in? My blog is about more than just the writing of it...it's about the journey to change. Thanks for being there with me on it.

  1. We are now more than one-sixth of the way to completing the 365 days of blogging. 1/6th may not sound like much, but then again, we're talking about 66 days of progress so far. That sounds like a lot. Too much now to even think about giving up.
That 1/6th, (and actually it is somewhere between 1/6 and 1/5th of the way there), is an excellent place to step back and look at the progress so far, and the subjects that have been covered. If we all take a good close look at this segment, we should all be coming up with some future subjects for examining.
For me, I'm sure that this has helped me so far. Whether it brings up something earth-shattering, or something that even seems like nothing, it is an examination of all of our lives and how we live it. This has been an enjoyable excursion for me, and I hope that I haven't come across as a "know it all", because I don't pretend to be so. There are times when I may seem to be teaching, but it really is not intended to be that way. We are all in a learning process, and can make statements that may or may not be on the mark. No one is perfect, oh, have we discussed being perfect yet? My wife will need a few extra pages for ripping on me for that one.

  3. I am afraid dear friend that I have been selfish regarding this blog. I have watched you grow since starting this. Why am freightened to evaluate what needs changed in my own life. I consider it selfish because it puts you out there and myself safely reading your blog vs participating. How easy to simply read and remain un-comitted to even one simple change needed in me. Wrong by all standards. I will work on this dear friend. And with all that I must tell you "I remain your devoted blog groopy".
